According to a recent news article from Nairametrics, Google Cloud has become an official validator for the Polygon (MATIC) network. This means that Google Cloud will be contributing to the network's collective security, governance, and decentralization alongside more than 100 other validators

As a validator, Google Cloud will verify transactions and enhance the security of the network's users. Polygon Labs stated that Google Cloud's infrastructure, which powers Google's flagship products like YouTube, will now help to fortify its protocol

This move by Google Cloud is expected to reinforce the security of the Heimdall, Bor, and Polygon PoS users. The announcement has also caused a minor price uptick in MATIC.
