or your fingers to work it into the flour until you have pea-sized crumbs.

and mix until the dough comes together. Divide it into two equal portions,
shape them into discs, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30
minutes.

o Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Make the Apple Filling:
o In another bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar,
cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and corn starch. Toss until the apples are well
coated.

Roll Out the Dough:

Take one of the chilled dough discs and roll it out
on a floured surface to fit your pie dish. Transfer it to the dish and trim any
excess hanging over the edges.

Add the Apple Filling:

Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.

Top with the Second Crust:
o Roll out the second dough disc and place it over
the apples. You can create a lattice pattern or simply cover the pie
completely. Seal the edges by crimping them with a fork.

Vent the Top Crust:

Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to
escape during baking.
8.
Brush with Egg Wash:
o
Beat the egg with water and brush it over the top
crust for a golden finish.
9.
Bake:
o Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is
bubbling.
10. Cool and Serve:
o
Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before
slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
