Climate change and its impact on UK’s wildlife in 2021

National Trust through Ben McCarthy, head of nature conservation and restoration ecology had said:  

“Climate change is making some forms of extreme weather events the new normal.

“Heatwaves and heavy rainfall are becoming more frequent and more intense.

“What we’re seeing in the UK with the impacts of wildfires and severe storms such as Arwen and Barra, is how climate change is altering our landscapes forever.”

He further stated that “Our nature is part of what makes the UK unique and we must all play our part to protect it.”

He cautioned the outrageous occasions were coming down on the UK's wildlife, which is now in a difficult situation with the greater part of species in decay and 15% under danger of termination and encouraged, saying preserving nature and further developing environments could uphold bigger populaces that were better ready to react to environmental change.

Meanwhile, wildlife was hit by storms, rainfall and wildfires in parts of the UK in 2021, in what is the “new normal” due to climate change, the National Trust said.
