Simply follow these easy recovery steps:
1. Uninstall the WhatsApp application from your phone.
2. Go to the Play Store and download it afresh.
3. Use the same phone number to start the application. Ensure you have the SIM card associated with the hijacked number. The phone number will receive a six-digit code via SMS.
4. Type in the six-digit code WhatsApp sent you via SMS. This quickly logs you into your account and automatically logs the hacker out.
When you are prompted for a two-step verification code but have not set one up, it indicates that the hacker must have activated a two-step verification code. Since you do not have the code, you have to wait for seven days again before you can sign in without the two-step verification code.
Remember, the hacker had been logged out immediately after you were logged in with the 6-digit SMS code.
So the hacker cannot continue any chat with your contacts, and they cannot even get access to your WhatsApp account during this period. Share with your friends and family.
I hope this helps!
